Aims and Scope

Egyptian Journal of Geriatrics and gerontology (EJGG) is a journal published twice per year. The goal of this journal is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in different areas of aging research.

All manuscripts must be prepared in English and are subject to a rigorous peer-review process. Accepted papers will immediately appear online followed by printed hard copy. The areas covered by Egyptian Journal of Geriatrics and gerontology (EJGG) include but are not limited to the following fields:

Principles of Aging: biology, psychosocial aspects, pharmacology, legal and ethical issues, and health care finance
Approach to the Older Patient: hospital-based and community-based geriatric care, nursing home care, geriatric assessment, preventive geriatrics, physical activity, rehabilitation, palliative care, and alternative medicine

Geriatric Syndromes: dementia, delirium, urinary incontinence, hearing and vision impairment, malnutrition, eating and feeding problems, osteoporosis and osteomalacia, falls and gait disturbances, dizziness and syncope, pressure ulcers, and sleep disorders

Geriatric Psychiatry: depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, personality/somatoform disorders, substance abuse, and mental retardation.

Geriatric Diseases & Disorders: cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, musculoskeletal diseases, back pain, diseases/disorders of the foot, neurologic diseases, infectious diseases, respiratory diseases, oral diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, endocrine/metabolic disorders, diabetes, hormone replacement therapy, gynecologic diseases/disorders, disorders of sexual function, hematologic diseases/disorders, oncology, renal diseases, prostate disease, and dermatologic diseases
